Monday Morning Rewind - Khaos Kloud kalls it kwits

Today's Monday Morning Rewind will be of a slightly different format. I was up in New York City this weekend with local old time banjo player Chelsea McBee (you'll read about that later this week), so I had no time to devote to a Shepherdstown-centric weekend in review. Instead I'm posting a video from the finale of a local hip-hop groups career.

I am speaking of Khaos Kloud. They won the 2008 Shepfest Battle of the Bands and had the unique distinction of opening for a The "Original" Wailers at the 2008 Shepfest. The band was always something of a side project for the members, but their brand of humorous elementary school hip-hop featuring, among other subjects, songs about french fries and getting your toys confiscated by your teachers, became quite popular with the local university music scene.

Last Friday at Stonewalls Pub, Khaos Kloud played their final show to a receptive and dancing audience, with many in attendance singing along to every word of their songs. Frontmen Jordan Hudkins and Jake Logan (only 2/3rds of Khaos Kloud, the remaining member was at the beach) put on a great final show, bickering between themselves throughout the performance and sarcastically addressing the audience members as "pathetic little people". The show culminated in a delightfully hilarous meltdown with Hudkins and Logan shouting at each other about how the other was responsible for the demise of Khaos Kloud. It will be sad to see them go, for they were the closest thing this town had to a hip-hop group. Oh well, Without further adieu, here's Khaos Kloud performing a song about attractive plus sized women.
