Tickets available for Rotary wine-tasting dinner

By Staff | Feb 15, 2013

The Shepherdstown Rotary Club will hold its annual wine-tasting dinner at the Bavarian Inn the evening of Friday, March 22. The event, which is now in its 12th year, is open to the whole community.

Admission is $65 per person.

All proceeds will be used to support the D. Lee Morgan Rotaract Club, which is a student-led Shepherd University service organization sponsored by Rotary.

The event will begin with a cash bar at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will follow at 7 p.m.

The dinner will feature fine dining accompanied by wines to compliment each course. The wines will be chosen by the Bavarian Inn’s Christian and David Asam, who have developed the hotel’s award-winning wine cellar and who specialize in matching wines and food. During the dinner, the Asams will provide a brief history of each wine and discuss its characteristics.

The wines served, which are always chosen to be affordably priced, will be available for purchase by the bottle or case.

Dress for the event will be business formal with optional black tie.

Special room rates will be available at the Inn that weekend for those attending.
