Wallace O. Pierson

Wallace O. Pierson, a compassionate family- oriented man who never met a stranger, 80, of Ranson, died Sunday, Oct. 6,. 2013, at Berkeley Medical Center, Martinsburg.

Born Dec. 29, 1932, in Charles Town, he was the son of Dana Douglas Pierson and Nellie Frances (Brackett) Pierson.

Mr. Pierson retired from Jerry’s Ford, Leesburg, Va., in 1995, after 43 years of service as a mechanic.

He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 948, Charles Town.

He is survived by his son, Keith D. “Duke” Pierson and wife, Sarah, of Ranson; grandchildren, Keith D. Pierson Jr. and wife, Stacy, of Shepherdstown and Emilee Nicole Pierson, of Ranson; great-grandchild, Corbin Pierson, of Shepherdstown; two sisters, Sally Lou Tomlin and Nancy Loudan, both of Charles Town; three brothers, Donald Pierson, of Harpers Ferry and Danny Pierson and Benny Pierson, both of Charles Town; and very close companion, Phyllis McCool.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda May Chamblin Pierson, who died July 30, 1989; two sisters, Leona Mae Hostler and Pearl Wilt; and three brothers, Carl Pierson, James Pierson and Marshall Pierson.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, with Pastor Jay Watson officiating. Interment was at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.
