Robin J. Murphy, 65, of Fairfield, Pa., died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, Pa.
She was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on June 1, 1949, to the late Herbert Jefferson Wright and the late Sally M. Marshall.
Robin graduated from Fairfield High School in 1967, and went on to study Graphic Arts at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She married the love of her life, the late Lawrence Murphy in 1988.
Robin was an accomplished artist, working as a graphic designer over the years for such companies as Caxton and Avon. She was also well known for painting the large original mural of Liberty Mountain (formerly Ski Liberty). Robin was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Shepherdstown Chapter.
She will be remembered by her Shepherdstown neighbors, for her ability to entertain and provide a creative approach to everything she did. She was an amazing cook, calligrapher, designer and artist.
Robin is survived by her stepmother, Genevieve M. Wright; and one stepdaughter, Lynn Murphy of Charleston, South Carolina. Robin is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ann Wright of Biglerville, Pennsylvania; sister, Cindy Wright and partner, Kathrin Koonce, of Surf City, North Carolina; brother, Harry Wright and his wife, Bert, of Shepherdstown; brother, Chud Wright and his wife, Jennifer, of Fairfield, Pa.; and sister, Jenny Starliper and her husband, Stephen, of Emmitsburg, Md. She is also survived by six nieces, Adrienne Asam and her husband, David, of Shepherdstown, Lauren Wright of Astoria, New York, Maggie Wood of Frederick, Maryland, Sallie Wood of Frederick, Stephani Wright of Fairfield, Pa., Olivia Wood of Fairfield; and two great-nieces, Willow Mason and Indie Asam of Shepherdstown. She is also survived by two nephews, Daniel Wright of Chicago, Illinois and Jackson Starliper of Emmitsburg, Md.
Robin is preceded in death by both parents, and her brother, Sidney A. Wright.
A service was held at noon, Saturday, May 31, at Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield.
