Randolph “Randy” William Lawhorn

Randolph “Randy” William Lawhorn, 83, of Kearneysville, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in the Canterbury Center.

Born June 17, 1930, in Waiteville, he was the son of the late Nellie Gray Kirk and William Roy Lawhorn and second mom, Dorothy Lawhorn.

He was a member of the New Destiny Church. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission. He was a member of the Rockville Moose Lodge.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, liked hunting and fishing, wrestling, always wanted to make people laugh by telling jokes and playing pranks and putting others first. He enjoyed life.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazel Florine Atkins Lawhorn; two sons, Tim Lawhorn and wife, Lisa, of Germantown, Maryland and Rick Lawhorn and wife, Stephanie, of Salisbury, Maryland; two daughters, Bernice Marshall and husband, John, of Shepherdstown and Peggy Trudeau and husband, Pete, of Germantown;four brothers, Roy, Perry, Allen and Ruben Lawhorn; eight sisters, Pammie Page, Leita, Carrie, Dottie, Jeannie, Katrina, Bonnie, and Elvin Lawhorn; seven grandchildren, T J, Taylor, Rickey Jr. and Austin Lawhorn, Johnny Lee Marshall Jr., Christie Persaud and husband, Anthony and Brittani Trudeau; and five great- grandchildren, Alexis, J.T., Ashlyn, Averie and Adalin.

In addition to his parents and second mom, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Rodelsie, Virgie, Nettie and Marie.

A memorial service was held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home. Interment was private.
