Shepherdstown Kiwanis Club joins Key Club to clean up area

By Staff | May 6, 2016

The Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown has participated in the WV Adopt-a-Highway program, picking up litter along Route 480 from the 4-way stop in downtown Shepherdstown for two miles toward Kearneysville since 1989 — for 27 years, two or three times every year!

The amount of litter collected has decreased over the years, but it is still not acceptable for anyone to throw anything along the roadways.

Shown are members of the Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown and the Key Club of Jefferson High School who participated in the event on Saturday, April 23. From left are Karl, Matt, Avery, Sarah and Wayne, as well as the litter they collected. Anyone interested in community service is asked to contact Adele at 304-258-9135.
