Edward "Glenn" Mihalik, aka "OC Honu," of Harpers Ferry, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility at Kearneysville. He was of the Christian faith and was surrounded by God and his family in his last moments.
He was born July 7, 1953, in Passaic, New Jersey and raised in Salisbury, Maryland. He was the son of the late Edward Mihalik and Grace Truitt.
Glenn is survived by his wife and soulmate of 17 years, Teri Kegel-Mihalik. He was not only an amazing dad, but also a true best friend to his children, the late Michael Glenn Mihalik, of Harpers Ferry, Michelle Montgomery and husband, Keith, of Harpers Ferry and Matthew Mihalik, of Shepherdstown. He helped raise two stepdaughters, Rhianna Kegel, of Ellicott City, Maryland and Carrie Kegel, of Maui, Hawaii. He is survived by three granddaughters, Grace Marie, Hadley Michael and Aria Rose, who he loved dearly and was the best "grandpa" to each of them. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Rita Mihalik, of Harpers Ferry.
Throughout his life, Glenn was an artist, construction manager, barber, talented musician and DJ, who loved to entertain. He was most passionate about his music and instilled that passion in his children and many close friends. He was a traveler, who loved nature and being close to the ocean. Glenn lived a very full life. He loved life, his family, his friends and will be deeply missed.

In lieu of a funeral, at his request, a living wake was held in his honor on Dec. 3, 2016. Thank you to everyone who contributed and attended his Celebration of Life and to everyone for their generosity and support during his battle.
