Chamber gives recognition venue

May 5, 2017

Employers in Jefferson County were afforded a venue to recognize their administrative professionals as the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Administrative Assistant's Day luncheon April 27 at the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown.

The Bavarian Inn has hosted the luncheon for many years, providing a beautiful setting for a well-deserved recognition for those who help keep local businesses running.

In the room were those who work diligently for banks, law enforcement, county elected officials and more who were honored by their bosses. Each attendee was treated to Greek-themed lunch prepared by the Bavarian dining staff. The menu included salad, a Greek lasagna and was followed with baklava.

Following the meal, Dining room manager Alex Tiches provided a cooking demonstration showing how to make fried cheeses as well as how to prepare and construct the baklava.

Chamber President Amy Panzarella commended all those administrative assistants for the hard work they do every day.

"It is an honor to recognize all of you and the hard work you do," she said.

Each employee was entered into a drawing for door prizes provided by many county businesses, ranging from gift certificates to gift baskets. After the drawings were complete, each administrative honoree was presented with a bottle of cooking oil created by Chamber staffer Danesia Chicchirichi.
